Inness Hancock (b. Nov 21, 1972, Charleston, SC)  is an American artist. Her works include paintings, drawings, watercolors, encaustic works and prints. Her soulful approach communicates connection, solitude, and the human spiritual experience.  Her fascination with light and landscape developed very early on while growing up in Maine. Drawing and painting the dramatic coastline, capturing the ever brilliant reflections, and strong linear quality of the jagged rocks soon became the painter’s own search for identity.

Inness’ work was the subject of a thesis at Yale Divinity School in 2005.

She has painted the desert of the Southwest extensively, along the East and West Coasts, and in such countries as England, Scotland, France, Italy, Mexico and Turkey.  She resides in Bedford, New York and Northeast Harbor, Maine. Her work exemplifies her commitment to conservation of historic and natural landmarks as well as natural resources and wildlife.
